Aluminum led flood light housing manufacturers

Prioritize ADC12 or A380 die-cast aluminum alloy for its excellent balance of thermal conductivity and structural strength. Ensure the housing features a high-fin density heat sink design to maximize surface area for heat dissipation, which is critical for extending the LED chip's lifespan. The surface should be treated with electrophoretic painting or outdoor-grade powder coating to prevent oxidation and corrosion in harsh environments.

The housing must achieve at least an IP65 or IP66 rating to ensure it is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets. For impact resistance, look for an IK08 or IK09 rating, especially for industrial or public area installations. Furthermore, verify that the supplier provides CE, RoHS, or UL certification reports to ensure the materials meet international safety and environmental standards.

Select housings that offer compatibility with standard PCB sizes and COB (Chip on Board) modules to simplify the assembly process. The internal cavity should provide sufficient space for the LED driver, ensuring it is thermally isolated from the heat-generating LEDs. Additionally, check for tempered glass covers with high light transmittance (>92%) and high-quality silicone gaskets to maintain a long-term vacuum seal.

These housings are primarily used for architectural lighting, stadium illumination, industrial warehouses, and billboard lighting. For high-mast or coastal applications, ensure the housing has passed a salt spray test (typically 48-96 hours) to guarantee durability against salt-air corrosion.

Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) or a third-party factory audit via Made-in-China.com to verify the casting quality. Specifically, check for porosity, cold shuts, or cracks in the aluminum, as these defects can lead to water leakage or structural failure. Always order a sample to test the fitment of your PCBs and drivers before committing to a bulk order.

Negotiate based on raw material price indexes (like the LME Aluminum price) to ensure fair pricing during market fluctuations. Discuss tooling/mold ownership clearly; if you are paying for a custom mold, ensure the contract states that the intellectual property and the physical mold belong to you. For bulk orders, aim for a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L).

Aluminum housings are heavy and can be prone to scratching. Insist on individual bubble wrap packaging and reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons stacked on fumigated pallets. For shipping to Western markets, utilize Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) to keep costs low, but ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to benefit from potential tariff preferences under specific trade agreements.

Use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are confirmed to be shipped. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts; always ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license and the proforma invoice.
