Billet hot shear furnace manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize heating efficiency and temperature uniformity. Look for furnaces that utilize multi-zone temperature control to ensure the billet reaches a precise forging temperature (typically 1100°C-1250°C) with a tolerance of ±5°C. Additionally, verify the shearing precision, which should ideally maintain a length tolerance of ±1mm to minimize material waste. The rated power (kW) and production capacity (tons/hour) must align with your extrusion press speed to prevent bottlenecks.

For international trade, the equipment must carry the CE Marking (for EU markets) or meet ASME/UL standards (for North American markets). Ensure the manufacturer complies with ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental impact. Specifically for gas-fired furnaces, EN 746-2 compliance is critical to ensure the safety of combustion and fuel handling systems.

Gas-fired hot shear furnaces generally offer lower initial capital expenditure (CAPEX) and are suitable for regions with cheap natural gas, though they have higher carbon emissions. Induction heating furnaces provide faster heating speeds, higher energy efficiency (up to 90%), and reduced scale loss, which can save 1-2% of raw material costs. B2B buyers should conduct a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis considering local energy prices and carbon tax regulations.

Insist on high-grade refractory lining (such as ceramic fiber or high-alumina bricks) that can withstand thermal shock. The shearing blade should be made of H13 hot-work die steel or similar alloys to maintain hardness at high temperatures. Look for designs that allow for quick blade replacement and have integrated self-diagnostic PLC systems (e.g., Siemens or Mitsubishi) to monitor sensor health and prevent unplanned downtime.

Always mandate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) conducted by a reputable third party like SGS or Intertek. For complex equipment like a Billet Hot Shear Furnace, perform a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) via video link or in-person to verify that the furnace reaches the required temperature and shearing speed before the final balance payment is made. Do not just negotiate on the sticker price; negotiate on the spare parts package and extended warranty. Request a 2-year wear-parts kit (including thermocouples, burners/coils, and blades) to be included in the price. Furthermore, define clear Performance Guarantees in the contract, specifying penalties if the furnace fails to meet the agreed-upon energy consumption or output rates.

Billet Hot Shear Furnaces are often Oversized (OOG) cargo. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed packing list and containerization plan (e.g., Flat Rack or Open Top containers). Confirm that the equipment is treated with anti-rust coating and VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging to prevent sea-salt corrosion during transit. Always clarify the Incoterms; for heavy machinery, CIF or DAP is often preferred to ensure the seller manages the complexities of international heavy-lift logistics.

Verify if the supplier offers Remote Commissioning Support via AR glasses or detailed video tutorials. For large installations, negotiate for the dispatch of technical engineers for on-site setup. Ensure the contract specifies that English-language PLC interfaces and technical manuals are provided. Check the supplier's track record on Made-in-China.com for their responsiveness to after-sales inquiries, as timely access to electronic components is vital for continuous production.
