China china x ray intensifying screens manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the phosphor type, typically Green-emitting (Gadolinium Oxysulfide) or Blue-emitting (Calcium Tungstate), to ensure compatibility with the specific X-ray film used. Key performance metrics include Resolution (line pairs per mm), Speed Class (e.g., 100, 200, 400), and Screen Lag. High-quality screens should feature a protective topcoat to resist scratches and static, ensuring a longer service life and reduced image artifacts.

Suppliers must hold ISO 13485 certification for medical device quality management systems. Products should ideally carry the CE Mark (EU) or FDA Registration (USA) to ensure they meet safety and performance requirements. Additionally, compliance with IEC 60601-1-3 for radiation protection in diagnostic X-ray equipment is a critical benchmark for ensuring patient and operator safety.

A higher speed screen (e.g., 400-800 class) significantly reduces the radiation dose required for an image, which protects the patient and extends the X-ray tube life by requiring lower mAs. However, this may increase quantum mottle (noise). Conversely, fine-grain (low speed) screens provide superior detail for extremities but require higher exposure. Sourcing a variety of speeds allows for clinical flexibility across different diagnostic needs.

Intensifying screens are sensitive to humidity and temperature extremes. They should be stored in a cool, dry place (typically 10°C to 25°C and 30-50% humidity) to prevent the phosphor layer from peeling or discoloring. Buyers should verify that the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging and provides clear maintenance protocols for cleaning with specialized non-abrasive solutions.

Utilize Made-in-China.com to identify Audited Suppliers whose manufacturing facilities have been verified by third-party agencies like SGS or Intertek. Request Batch Test Reports and a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for every shipment. It is highly recommended to order a sample for darkroom testing to check for physical defects, light leaks, or uneven phosphor distribution before committing to a bulk purchase.

The main risks are physical bending and moisture ingress. Ensure the contract specifies rigid, flat-packed reinforced cartons with vacuum-sealed anti-static bags. For high-value orders, use CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms to ensure the goods are covered against damage during transit, and insist on shock-indicator labels on the outer packaging.

Focus on long-term quality stability rather than just the lowest price. Negotiate a Warranty Period (typically 12-24 months) and define a clear Defective Goods Return Policy. If purchasing in bulk, request a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops as your annual volume increases, and ask for free replacement screens (1-2%) to be included in the shipment to cover potential transit damage.

Always use secure payment methods such as Escrow services or Letters of Credit (L/C) for large transactions. On Made-in-China.com, look for the Secured Trading Service to protect your payment until you confirm receipt and inspection of the goods. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; always ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license.
