Chinese fishing net manufacturers

When selecting fishing nets, the material composition is paramount. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) and Nylon (PA6/PA66) are the industry standards due to their high tensile strength and abrasion resistance. You must specify the twine thickness (denier) and mesh size (stretched or half-mesh) to ensure it meets the specific biological requirements of your target catch. Additionally, ensure the nets are UV-stabilized to prevent degradation from prolonged sun exposure, which can extend the product's lifespan by 30-50%.

Request a Breaking Strength Test report to confirm the net can withstand the required load. For knotted nets, check the knot stability to ensure they do not slip under tension. For knotless nets, verify the interweaving integrity. It is highly recommended to conduct a mesh uniformity inspection; a variance of more than 3% in mesh size can lead to non-compliance with local fishing regulations and environmental standards.

Buyers must ensure products comply with ISO 1805:2006 for breaking force and knot breaking force of netting yarns. Furthermore, many regions now require Bycatch Reduction Device (BRD) compatibility. If you are importing into the EU or North America, verify that the materials are REACH compliant and free from harmful lead-based dyes. Sourcing from suppliers on Made-in-China.com who hold ISO 9001 certifications ensures a baseline for consistent manufacturing processes.

Look for suppliers offering OEM services for specific colors (e.g., depth-matching camouflage), custom weighting (sinkers), and floatation buoyancy adjustments. Professional suppliers should provide reinforced selvedges (edges) to prevent fraying. For large-scale commercial operations, ask for pre-rigged options to reduce local labor costs upon arrival.

The most significant risk is regulatory non-compliance regarding mesh sizes, which can lead to customs seizure or heavy fines if the nets are deemed 'illegal gear' in the destination country. Another risk is volumetric weight charges; fishing nets are bulky, so ensure the supplier uses high-compression hydraulic packing to minimize shipping volume and reduce freight costs.

Focus on the weight-to-price ratio rather than just the unit price, as the raw material (nylon/polyethylene) cost is a commodity. Negotiate for a tiered pricing structure where a 15-20% discount is applied for full container loads (FCL). For payment, utilize Trade Assurance or Letters of Credit (L/C) to secure the transaction until the third-party inspection report is approved.

Due to the weight and volume, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the only economically viable method for bulk orders. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed packing list that specifies the weight of each bale. To prevent moisture damage and salt-air corrosion during transit, insist on heavy-duty PP woven bag packaging with internal waterproof liners.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification on Made-in-China.com. Conduct a factory audit (either in-person or via a third-party service like SGS or Intertek) to confirm production capacity. Never wire full payments upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the safest industry practice.
