Ddr2 laptop 4gb ram manufacturers

When sourcing DDR2 4GB modules, you must verify the frequency (typically 667MHz/PC2-5300 or 800MHz/PC2-6400) and the voltage (standard 1.8V). Since 4GB single-stick DDR2 modules are rare and were often proprietary or chipset-specific (e.g., for Intel GL40/GM45), ensure the memory density and bit organization (e.g., 2Rx8) are compatible with the target legacy hardware. Always request SPD (Serial Presence Detect) reports to confirm the RAM's internal programming matches the label.

DDR2 is a legacy product, so you must distinguish between 'New Original' (original chips), 'Major Brand' (Samsung, Hynix, Micron), and 'Refurbished/Pulled' units. Prioritize suppliers who use original DRAM particles rather than 'downgrade' or 'ETT' chips. Demand a 100% MemTest86+ validation report for each batch to ensure zero bit errors, and look for Gold Finger thickness of 3μ" to prevent oxidation and ensure stable contact in the SODIMM slot.

Ensure the products are RoHS compliant to meet environmental standards for the EU and North America. For B2B resale, the modules should carry CE and FCC certifications. Crucially, verify JEDEC standard compliance, which guarantees that the RAM will operate within the universal timing parameters (CL5 or CL6) required by older laptop BIOS systems without manual adjustment.

Single 4GB DDR2 SODIMMs are significantly more expensive per GB than 2GB modules due to their rarity and the high-density chips required. If the buyer's goal is 4GB total system memory, it is often more cost-effective to procure 2x2GB kits. However, if the laptop has only one slot, ensure the chipset supports 4GB addressing, as many DDR2-era laptops are capped at 2GB per slot.

The secondary market for legacy RAM is prone to 're-marked' chips. To protect your investment, use Secure Payment services on Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after inspection. Request high-resolution photos of the DRAM chips to check for consistent laser markings and avoid suppliers whose prices are 20% or more below the market average, as this often indicates salvaged or unstable components.

Focus negotiations on RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) terms and warranty duration. For legacy electronics, a 1-year to lifetime replacement warranty is industry standard. Negotiate for a 0.5% to 1% spare parts allowance (extra units) to cover potential Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) cases, which is often more efficient than shipping single faulty units back across borders.

RAM is highly sensitive to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). Insist that the supplier uses anti-static trays or individual ESD bags for every module. For international shipping, ensure the outer carton is double-walled and moisture-sealed with silica gel packets to prevent corrosion during sea freight or humid transit conditions.

Verify the HS Code (typically 8473.30) for your specific country to calculate duties. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed Commercial Invoice and Packing List that clearly states the 'Country of Origin.' For large orders, consider Air Freight for faster turnover, as the high value-to-weight ratio of RAM makes it suitable for express couriers like DHL or FedEx.
