Feldspar powder price manufacturers

The price of feldspar powder is primarily driven by its chemical purity and particle size. Buyers should focus on the Al2O3 (Alumina) content, which typically ranges from 15% to 19%, and the Fe2O3 (Iron Oxide) content, which must be below 0.1% for high-end glass and ceramics to prevent discoloration. Additionally, the mesh size (e.g., 200, 325, or 500 mesh) significantly impacts the price; finer powders require more processing time and energy, thus commanding a higher premium.

Potash Feldspar (K-feldspar) generally carries a higher price point than Soda Feldspar (Na-feldspar) due to its superior fluxing properties and its role in creating high-strength ceramic bodies and glazes. When sourcing from Made-in-China.com, ensure you specify the K2O or Na2O percentage required, as a higher alkali content directly correlates with better melting performance and higher market value.

Suppliers should provide a Chemical Analysis Report (COA) and a Particle Size Distribution (PSD) test. For international trade, ensure the supplier adheres to ISO 9001 quality management systems. If the powder is used in food-contact ceramics, verify compliance with heavy metal leaching limits (such as Lead and Cadmium) to meet safety regulations in the destination country.

Feldspar powder is categorized by application: Ceramic Grade (requires high whiteness after firing), Glass Grade (prioritizes alumina content and low iron), and Filler Grade (used in paints and rubber, focusing on brightness and oil absorption). Ceramic-grade feldspar usually sits at a mid-to-high price tier because of the strict whiteness requirements (>60-70%).

The most significant risk is quality inconsistency between the sample and the bulk shipment. Since feldspar is a mined product, mineral veins can change. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and mandate a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS to verify that the chemical composition of the actual cargo matches the agreed specifications.

Negotiation should focus on Annual Volume Commitments rather than one-off spot buys. Suppliers are more likely to offer a 10-15% discount if you provide a rolling forecast. Additionally, discuss packaging options; switching from 25kg bags to 1-ton Jumbo Bags (FIBC) can reduce labor and handling costs, lowering the overall C&F price.

Feldspar powder is heavy and prone to moisture absorption. Ensure the contract specifies moisture-proof lining in containers. For shipping to international markets, FOB (Free On Board) is often preferred by experienced buyers to maintain control over freight costs, but for new buyers, CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) provides a more convenient 'all-in' price. Always confirm the HS Code (typically 2529.10) to accurately calculate import duties.

Verify the supplier's Export License for industrial minerals, as China occasionally adjusts export quotas or environmental taxes on mining products. Use Audit Reports available on Made-in-China.com to check the supplier's production capacity and environmental compliance, ensuring your supply chain is not disrupted by local 'green' factory shutdowns.
