Glass jewelry box manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize tempered glass or high-borosilicate glass for enhanced durability and shatter resistance. The frame material is equally critical; electroplated brass or stainless steel is preferred over iron to prevent rust and oxidation. For the interior, ensure the use of acid-free velvet or microfiber lining to prevent chemical reactions that could tarnish delicate jewelry like silver or pearls.

For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead content in solder and metal frames. For the EU, REACH regulation compliance is mandatory to ensure no harmful chemicals are present in the adhesives or linings. Additionally, if the box includes LED lighting, CE or UL certification for electronic components is required.

Focus on the soldering points; they should be smooth, uniform, and free of sharp burrs. Check the hinge durability by requesting a cycle test report (e.g., 5,000+ openings). The glass panels must be seamlessly fitted into the metal grooves with high-quality silicone sealant to prevent rattling or detachment during transit.

Look for suppliers capable of laser engraving logos, silk-screen printing, or offering customized compartment layouts. Advanced suppliers on Made-in-China.com can also provide electroplating in various finishes (rose gold, antique bronze, matte black) and custom-sized slots for specific items like watches or oversized necklaces.

Glass is a high-risk category for damage. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and individual EPE foam or molded pulp packaging for each unit. Request a ISTA 3A drop test report from the supplier. It is highly recommended to use FOB terms and arrange your own cargo insurance to cover potential transit losses.

Do not negotiate on price alone, as this often leads to thinner glass or cheaper lead-based solder. Instead, negotiate based on MOQ tiers (e.g., a 10-15% discount for 1,000+ units) and payment terms. Aim for a 30% deposit and 70% balance after third-party inspection but before shipment to ensure quality leverage.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Always verify the supplier's Audit Reports and Business License on the platform. Before placing a bulk order, request a paid sample to verify that the mass production quality matches the prototype.

Glass jewelry boxes are often classified under HS Code 7020.00 (Other articles of glass) or 7326.90 (Other articles of iron/steel). Check for anti-dumping duties in your specific country for Chinese glassware. For shipping to the US or Europe, sea freight is most cost-effective for bulk, but ensure the pallets are fumigated if wood is used.
