Lock of love manufacturers

For outdoor applications, such as 'love lock' bridges or fences, Zinc Alloy and Brass are the preferred materials due to their natural corrosion resistance. If the product is intended for high-humidity or coastal areas, ensure the locks have an electroplated finish or a protective lacquer coating to prevent oxidation and maintain the aesthetic appeal over time.

When sourcing customized locks, specify Laser Engraving over traditional stamping for higher precision and durability. Request the supplier to provide vector files (AI or CDR) for design confirmation and ask for a pre-production sample to verify the depth of the engraving and the clarity of the fonts, ensuring the text does not fade under environmental exposure.

While these are often symbolic, the locking mechanism must remain functional. Ensure the shackle diameter (typically 3mm to 5mm) is compatible with standard fence meshes. Verify the spring tension within the cylinder to ensure the lock snaps shut securely and that the key-to-lock ratio is accurate to avoid high defect rates in bulk shipments.

For the EU market, products must comply with REACH regulations, specifically regarding lead and nickel content in jewelry-like items that come into frequent skin contact. For the US market, ensure compliance with CPSIA if the locks are marketed as accessories for children's bags or diaries. Always request Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) from the manufacturer.

Implement a Third-Party Inspection (TPI) before final payment. Instruct the inspector to perform a Salt Spray Test (typically 24-48 hours) on random samples to simulate long-term weather exposure. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have verified production lines and quality control systems.

Since locks are small but heavy, they have high density. For orders exceeding 100kg, Sea Freight (LCL) is the most economical, though it has longer lead times. For smaller trial orders, International Express (DHL/FedEx) is faster, but you should negotiate DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms with the supplier to avoid unexpected customs clearance hurdles and local taxes.

Standard colors like Gold or Silver usually have low MOQs (e.g., 50-100 pcs). For custom Pantone colors, suppliers may require 1,000+ units. To reduce risk, negotiate a staggered MOQ where you pay a slightly higher unit price for a smaller initial test batch, with the agreement that the surcharge will be credited back upon a larger follow-up order.

Always use Secured Payment services provided by the sourcing platform to ensure your funds are held in escrow until shipping documents are uploaded. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the product weight, material composition, and packaging details to prevent 'quality fade' during mass production.
