Medicine hdpe bottle manufacturers

When selecting HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) bottles, you must prioritize material purity and barrier properties. Ensure the bottles are made from 100% virgin HDPE resin to avoid contamination from recycled plastics. Key specs include moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) to protect light/moisture-sensitive pills, wall thickness uniformity to prevent cracking, and neck finish compatibility (e.g., 28/400 or 38/400) to ensure a leak-proof seal with closures.

For global trade, products must adhere to US FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for food and drug contact safety. Additionally, look for USP <661> (Physicochemical Tests for Plastics) and USP <671> (Performance Testing). If exporting to Europe, compliance with EU Regulation No 10/2011 and ISO 15378 (Primary packaging materials for medicinal products) is essential to ensure the manufacturer follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Medicine bottles often require Child-Resistant Closures (CRC) and Tamper-Evident (TE) bands. You should request certification for ISO 8317 or 16 CFR 1700.20 to confirm the child-resistant mechanism is tested and effective. Furthermore, ensure the supplier can provide Induction Sealing Liners (aluminum foil) which provide an airtight barrier and visible proof of original packaging.

HDPE bottles are widely used for solid dosage forms (tablets/capsules), powders, and liquid supplements. Standard capacities range from 30ml to 500ml. For bulk pharmaceutical distribution, buyers often seek wide-mouth designs to facilitate high-speed automated filling lines, while amber or opaque white coloring is used to provide UV protection for light-sensitive medications.

The biggest risk is chemical migration or heavy metal contamination if the supplier uses low-grade colorants or additives. To mitigate this, always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. Another risk is deformation during transit due to extreme heat in shipping containers; ensure the supplier uses reinforced 5-layer corrugated export cartons and avoids over-stacking.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for free mold customization if your annual volume exceeds 100,000 units. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 10k, 50k, 100k units) and request that the supplier includes 1-2% extra units in the shipment to cover potential damages during automated filling.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released upon confirmation of shipment. For first-time large orders, it is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) focusing on bottle weight, neck diameter precision, and seal integrity.

Since empty bottles are high-volume but low-weight (volumetric cargo), Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) is the most economical method. To optimize costs, ask the supplier to calculate the maximum loading capacity of a 40HQ container. For urgent samples or small trial runs, Air Freight is acceptable, but ensure the bottles are not pressurized to avoid bursting.
