Metal eyewear glasses price manufacturers

The price of metal eyewear is primarily driven by the base material. Monel is the most common and cost-effective, but for premium markets, you should prioritize Titanium (Pure or Beta) for its hypoallergenic properties and lightweight nature, or Stainless Steel for high durability and corrosion resistance. Ensure the supplier specifies the plating technique, such as IP (Ion Plating), which is significantly more durable and resistant to sweat than traditional water plating.

To ensure legal entry into major markets, products must meet specific standards. For the US market, frames must be FDA registered and comply with ANSI Z80.3. For the EU market, a CE Marking is mandatory, and materials must comply with REACH regulations, specifically testing for Nickel release (EN 16128) to prevent allergic reactions. Always request ISO 12870 certification, which covers fundamental requirements for unglazed spectacle frames.

B2B buyers should distinguish between handmade acetate-metal combinations and fully automated CNC-machined frames. High-precision CNC machining ensures consistency in bridge width and temple alignment, reducing the defect rate. Additionally, check the hinge quality; integrated spring hinges or OBE hinges (German brand) often command a higher price but significantly extend the product's lifespan and user comfort.

Beyond aesthetics, focus on ergonomic design such as adjustable silicone nose pads and weighted temple tips for balance. For functional eyewear, verify if the frames are compatible with high-index prescription lenses or if they feature blue-light blocking coatings. The vacuum plating thickness (measured in microns) is a critical functional metric for color retention.

Implement a three-stage inspection process: request a pre-production sample for material verification, conduct a mid-term inspection to check plating consistency, and perform a final random inspection (AQL 2.5/4.0) before shipment. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can provide an extra layer of protection by ensuring payment is only released upon proof of shipment and compliance with quality terms.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for tiered pricing based on volume (e.g., 300, 500, 1000 units) and discuss MOQ flexibility for new designs. You can often reduce costs by standardizing components (like using the same hinge across multiple models) or by negotiating FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your logistics costs.

Metal frames are prone to deformation if pressured. Ensure the supplier uses individual polybags, bubble wrap sleeves, and reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons. For high-value titanium frames, Air Freight is recommended to minimize humidity exposure and transit time. Always confirm the HS Code (typically 9003.19) to accurately calculate import duties and avoid customs delays.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com, as these manufacturers have undergone on-site verification by third-party agencies like SGS or Intertek. Verify their Business License, Export License, and check if they have a history of OEM/ODM partnerships with recognized global brands, which serves as a benchmark for their reliability and technical capability.
