Milk powder production equipments manufacturers

A professional production line must integrate several key stages: Raw Milk Reception and Standardization (clarifiers and separators), Pasteurization/UHT Treatment to ensure microbial safety, Evaporation/Concentration (typically Multi-effect Falling Film Evaporators) to remove water efficiently, and the Spray Drying Tower, which is the heart of the process. Additionally, Fluidized Bed Cooling and Vacuum Packaging systems are essential to maintain powder solubility and shelf life.

Buyers must ensure equipment adheres to 3-A Sanitary Standards or EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) guidelines to prevent bacterial growth. For electrical safety and pressure vessel integrity, verify CE marking (PED 2014/68/EU), UL certification, or ASME U-Stamp for evaporators. The materials in contact with the product must be Food Grade Stainless Steel (SUS304 or SUS316L) with a surface roughness of Ra < 0.8μm.

The choice between Centrifugal Atomization and Pressure Nozzle Atomization determines the particle size and bulk density of the milk powder. High-quality equipment should offer precise control over inlet/outlet temperatures and residence time to prevent protein denaturation or scorching. Advanced systems include CIP (Clean-in-Place) technology to ensure 100% hygiene between batches without dismantling the tower.

Focus on the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER). Evaporation and drying are energy-intensive; look for systems with Thermal Vapor Recompression (TVR) or Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), which can reduce steam consumption by up to 40-60%. Also, consider the powder recovery rate—efficient cyclone separators and bag filters should minimize product loss to less than 0.5%.

Always mandate a Fat (Factory Acceptance Test) before final payment. If travel is restricted, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to verify the welding quality, material thickness, and motor specifications against the Proforma Invoice. For secure sourcing, utilize platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offer Secured Trading services to protect your payment until the goods are shipped.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the sticker price. Negotiate for a comprehensive spare parts package (seals, gaskets, nozzles) for the first 2 years of operation. Demand a 12-24 month warranty and clarify the technical support response time—top-tier suppliers should provide remote PLC diagnostics and video installation guidance as part of the contract.

Due to the oversized nature of drying towers, equipment is often shipped in sections or SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) form. Ensure the contract specifies seaworthy packaging (vacuum plastic wrapping and reinforced wooden crates) to prevent corrosion during sea transit. Confirm whether the supplier provides on-site installation engineers and verify who covers their visa, travel, and accommodation costs to avoid hidden expenses.

Verify the HS Code (typically 841939 or 843420) to determine import duties in your country. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to benefit from potential Free Trade Agreements (FTA). For dairy equipment, some regions require Phytosanitary-like certificates for wooden packaging (ISPM 15), so ensure all pallets are properly fumigated and stamped.
