Wholesale brushed cotton fabric manufacturers

When sourcing brushed cotton (also known as flannel or peach-skin cotton), you must prioritize Fabric Weight (GSM), typically ranging from 140g to 300g depending on the end-use. Ensure the Yarn Count (e.g., 20s, 32s, or 40s) aligns with your softness requirements. Additionally, verify the Brushing Intensity—whether it is single-side or double-side brushed—as this directly impacts the thermal insulation and hand-feel of the final product.

To ensure market access and consumer safety, the fabric should ideally hold an OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the absence of harmful substances. For organic claims, verify GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification. If exporting to the US, ensure compliance with CPSIA (especially for children's sleepwear regarding flammability), and for the EU, adhere to REACH chemical regulations.

The quality of brushed cotton is determined by its resistance to pilling and shedding. Request Pilling Resistance Test Reports (ISO 12945-2) with a rating of Grade 3-4 or higher. Furthermore, check the Colorfastness to Washing and Rubbing (ISO 105-X12) to ensure the mechanical brushing process hasn't weakened the fibers or compromised the dye integrity.

Brushed cotton is highly versatile. It is primarily used in Apparel (flannel shirts, loungewear, and inner linings), Home Textiles (winter bedsheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers), and Baby Products due to its hypoallergenic and soft properties. For industrial buyers, it is also used as polishing cloth or technical wipes due to its high absorbency.

Always mandate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third-party agency. Ensure the supplier provides a Gold Sample (approved production sample) before the main run. Use platforms like Made-in-China.com to vet suppliers with Audited Supplier status, which confirms their manufacturing capabilities and reduces the risk of receiving sub-standard 'B-grade' fabric.

Focus on Volume-Based Pricing; for brushed cotton, price breaks often occur at 1,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and 10,000 meters. Negotiate Payment Terms such as a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). Clarify the Waste/Defect Allowance (typically 2-3%) in the contract to avoid disputes over minor weaving flaws.

Fabric is susceptible to moisture and pressure damage. Insist on Double-Layer Packaging (inner plastic polybag + outer woven bag) to prevent water ingress during sea freight. Ensure the Container Loading Supervision prevents heavy items from being stacked on top of the fabric rolls, which can cause permanent creasing or core deformation.

Stay informed about Rules of Origin and potential Anti-Dumping Duties or tariffs (like Section 301 in the US). Ensure your supplier provides a valid Certificate of Origin. Due to global regulations, it is critical to verify that the raw cotton is sourced from compliant regions to avoid customs seizures related to forced labor prevention acts.
