Wholesale faux leather jacket manufacturers

When sourcing, prioritize Polyurethane (PU) over PVC, as PU is more breathable, flexible, and eco-friendly. For premium markets, look for 'Water-based PU' which avoids toxic solvents. Ensure the fabric weight (GSM) is appropriate for the season—heavier weights (300-500 GSM) are better for winter 'biker' styles, while lighter weights suit fashion blazers.

Check for double-stitched seams at high-stress points like armpits and pockets to prevent tearing. Hardware should be electroplated zinc alloy or brass to prevent rusting; specifically, request YKK or high-grade SBS zippers to ensure smooth operation. The lining should be high-density polyester or viscose to prevent 'pilling' over time.

For the US market, ensure compliance with CPSIA regarding lead content in zippers and buttons. For the EU, products must meet REACH regulations, specifically testing for Azo dyes, Phthalates, and Chromium VI, which are often found in low-quality synthetic leather tanning processes.

Request a video of a 'scratch test' (using a key or coin to check surface durability) and a 'stretch recovery' test. Ask the supplier for third-party lab reports covering colorfastness to rubbing (ISO 105-X12) and peeling resistance. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize 'Audited Suppliers' who have had their production lines verified by SGS or TÜV Rheinland.

Synthetic leather can retain a strong chemical odor if not properly aired. Include a clause in your Purchase Order (PO) specifying that goods must be deodorized and ventilated before packaging. Use silica gel desiccant packets in every polybag to prevent moisture buildup and mold during long-term sea freight.

Don't just negotiate on the unit price; negotiate on MOQ tiers. For example, ask for a 5-10% discount if the order exceeds 1,000 pieces. Alternatively, negotiate for free labeling/branding services or a 30/70 payment term (30% deposit, 70% balance after passing a pre-shipment inspection).

Faux leather is prone to permanent creasing. For high-end styles, use 'GOH' (Garment on Hanger) shipping containers. For standard bulk shipping, ensure the supplier uses flat-packing with tissue paper inserts between folds to prevent the PU surfaces from sticking together or 'migrating' color in hot containers.

Always use Secured Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are only released after you confirm receipt of goods. Never wire 100% of the payment upfront to a private bank account; always use corporate accounts verified by the platform.
