Wholesale plush toy chicken manufacturers

Safety is the highest priority in the toy industry. You must ensure products comply with EN71 (Parts 1, 2, and 3) for the European market or ASTM F963 and CPSIA for the United States. These standards cover mechanical safety (no small parts that are choking hazards), flammability, and chemical migration (lead and phthalates). Always request a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) from the supplier to verify third-party testing.

Focus on the GSM (Grams per Square Meter) of the outer fabric; higher density usually indicates a softer, more durable finish like Crystal Super Soft or PV Fleece. For the filling, 100% PP cotton (Polypropylene) is the industry standard for maintaining shape and elasticity. Ask the supplier about needle detection processes to ensure no broken metal fragments remain inside the toy, and verify that seam strength meets tension test requirements (usually 70N or more).

Most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. This includes custom embroidery or silk-screen printing for logos, private labeling (woven tags and hangtags), and custom sizing. For unique designs, you can provide AI or PDF tech packs. Note that custom shapes may require a mold or sampling fee, which is often refundable once the bulk order exceeds a certain quantity (e.g., 3,000 units).

Standard MOQs for custom plush toys usually range from 500 to 1,200 pieces per design. Small-batch orders (under 200 pieces) often use stock fabrics to reduce costs, while larger orders (over 5,000 pieces) allow for custom-dyed fabric colors and significantly lower unit prices. To optimize costs, consider vacuum packaging, which can reduce shipping volume by up to 60-70%, though it may require a few days for the toys to regain their shape after unpacking.

Utilize Trade Services provided by Made-in-China.com to secure your payment. Never wire full payments to personal bank accounts; always use corporate accounts verified by the platform. For large orders, implement a 30/70 payment structure (30% deposit, 70% balance after inspection but before shipment) and consider hiring a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI).

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for a breakdown of material vs. labor costs. To secure better lead times, avoid peak seasons like the pre-Christmas rush (September-October) and the Chinese New Year period. Clearly define Liquidated Damages in your contract for delays exceeding 14 days to ensure the supplier prioritizes your production line.

Because plush toys are lightweight but bulky, they are billed by Volumetric Weight. For large wholesale orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical. If you are shipping to the US or Europe, DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms are often preferred by B2B buyers to simplify customs clearance and include all duties/taxes in the quote. For urgent samples, International Express (DHL/FedEx) is necessary, but ensure the samples are vacuum-sealed to minimize air freight costs.
