Aircraft chocks manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize High-Density Polyurethane (HDPE) or Reinforced Rubber compounds. Polyurethane is preferred for its lightweight nature, resistance to fuels, oils, and hydraulic fluids, and its ability to withstand extreme UV exposure without cracking. For heavy-duty applications, ensure the material has a high load-bearing capacity and is non-conductive to prevent interference with aircraft electronics.

It is critical to verify that the chocks meet SAE AIR4905A (Aerospace Information Report for MS24667 type chocks). Additionally, ensure compliance with FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) or EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) ground handling guidelines. For chemical safety and environmental standards, look for REACH and RoHS certifications, especially for rubber-based products.

The choice depends on the tire diameter and aircraft weight. Triangular (wedge) shapes are standard, but the height of the chock should be approximately 25% to 33% of the tire's radius. For wide-body aircraft, curved-face chocks provide better surface contact. Always request a technical drawing from the supplier to confirm the dimensions align with your specific fleet requirements.

Look for high-visibility colors (Safety Yellow or Orange) to prevent ground vehicle collisions. Essential features include replaceable rubber traction pads on the bottom to prevent slipping on icy or wet tarmacs, and heavy-duty nylon ropes or integrated handles for easy placement and removal. For night operations, reflective strips are a significant safety upgrade.

The main risk is material degradation; low-quality rubber may crack under extreme temperature fluctuations. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and request a Third-Party Inspection (such as SGS or Intertek) to perform a hardness test (Shore A) and a compression set test before the balance payment is made.

Aircraft chocks are high-density goods. To reduce costs, negotiate FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your freight forwarder. Consider Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) rather than air freight due to the weight. Ask the supplier to use stackable designs or specialized palletizing to maximize container space utilization, which can reduce landed costs by 15-20%.

Focus on Volume-Based Pricing and Long-term Warranty. Since these are safety-critical items, negotiate a warranty of at least 2-3 years against manufacturing defects. If purchasing in bulk (e.g., >500 pairs), aim for a 10-15% discount compared to sample pricing. Always ask for custom branding/logo embossing to be included in the unit price for large orders.

Always conduct transactions through verified channels on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment protection. Verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification. Ensure the Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 4016.99 for rubber or 3926.90 for plastic) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays or incorrect duty assessments in the destination country.
