Brick toy manufacturers

Brick toys must be made from high-quality ABS plastic, which is preferred for its durability, non-toxicity, and 'clutch power.' Buyers must ensure products comply with EN71 (Europe), ASTM F963 (USA), and ISO 8124 standards. It is critical to verify that the materials are BPA-free and lead-free to ensure child safety and avoid customs seizures.

The most important technical factor is compatibility with major brands (standard 8mm stud pitch). You should request samples to test the clutch power—the bricks should fit snugly but be easy enough for a child to pull apart. Check for mold precision; high-quality suppliers maintain a tolerance of less than 0.01mm to prevent sharp edges or loose connections.

For the US market, a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) based on testing from a CPSC-accepted lab is mandatory. For the EU, the CE Mark and EC Declaration of Conformity are required. Additionally, ensure the packaging includes choking hazard warnings in the local language, as brick toys often contain small parts unsuitable for children under 3 years old.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer customized packaging, instruction manuals, and unique brick colors. For full ODM projects (new mold creation), expect a higher MOQ of 3,000–5,000 sets and a tooling lead time of 30–45 days. Ensure the supplier provides 3D renderings or prototypes before mass production.

IP infringement is the biggest risk in this category. Avoid sets that replicate copyrighted movie characters, logos, or specific patented designs from major brands without a license. Work with suppliers who have their own original designs or 'MOC' (My Own Creation) licenses to ensure your shipment is not confiscated by customs for trademark violations.

Brick toys are relatively heavy and bulky due to packaging. For large volumes, Sea Freight (FCL/LCL) is the most economical. To reduce costs, consider 'no box' options (shipping bricks in sealed polybags) which can reduce shipping volume by up to 40-50%, or use flat-packed retail boxes to be assembled at the destination.

Always use Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Never release the final 70% balance until a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) is completed. The inspector should check the piece count accuracy, plastic finish, and box printing quality.

Focus on the long-term volume rather than a single order. Ask for tiered pricing based on quantity (e.g., 500, 1000, and 5000 units). You can often negotiate a lower price by 5-10% if you agree to use the supplier's standard 'neutral' packaging instead of full custom designs for the first trial run.
