Butterfly sculpture manufacturers

For outdoor installations, prioritize 304 or 316 stainless steel to prevent corrosion, or weathering steel (Corten) for a rustic aesthetic. Ensure the surface is treated with UV-resistant automotive paint or powder coating to prevent fading. For indoor decorative pieces, brass, resin, or glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) offer finer detail and a wider range of electroplated finishes like rose gold or chrome.

Large sculptures must have an internal galvanized steel skeleton to withstand wind loads. Request structural calculation reports if the piece exceeds 2 meters. Ensure the base plate is pre-drilled for expansion bolts and that all welding points are full-penetration welds, polished smooth to eliminate sharp edges that could pose a safety risk in public spaces.

B2B buyers should inquire about CAD/3D modeling services to visualize scale. Discuss lighting integration, such as internal LED modules or fiber optics for nighttime visibility. For hollow-out designs, verify the laser-cutting precision (ideally within ±0.5mm) to ensure the intricate wing patterns are consistent across bulk orders.

Ensure the manufacturer complies with ISO 9001 for quality management. For public art projects, materials should meet ASTM A240 (for stainless steel) and EN 1090 (for structural steel). If the sculpture includes lighting, components must be CE, UL, or RoHS certified to meet regional electrical safety standards.

Sculptures are fragile and bulky. Insist on IPPC-certified fumigated wooden crate packaging with internal steel bracing and shock-absorbent foam (EPE). For high-value items, use impact indicators on the crate to detect rough handling. Always negotiate CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms to ensure the cargo is fully insured against maritime risks.

Focus on mold costs and sample fees; many suppliers will refund the sample cost once a bulk order (e.g., >10 units) is placed. Request a detailed production timeline with milestones (e.g., clay mold completion, casting, polishing) and link staged payments (30-40-30) to these milestones to maintain leverage over quality.

Utilize Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. Before the final payment, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify dimensions, finish quality, and packaging integrity.

For sculptures exceeding standard container heights, use Open Top (OT) containers or Flat Rack (FR) containers. If the sculpture is modular, ensure the supplier provides a detailed assembly manual and video. For smaller decorative sets, LCL (Less than Container Load) is cost-effective, but ensure the items are palletized to prevent crushing by other cargo.
