Car wiper tank manufacturers

B2B buyers should prioritize tanks made from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Polypropylene (PP). These materials offer superior chemical resistance to washer fluids and methanol, as well as the ability to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations (from -40°C to 80°C) without cracking or warping. Ensure the wall thickness is uniform (typically 2.5mm - 3.5mm) to prevent pressure-related leaks.

Always request the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Part Number or Cross-Reference Number to ensure a 100% match. For aftermarket distribution, verify that the mounting hole positions, pump port diameters, and sensor socket configurations align perfectly with the target vehicle's specifications. Suppliers providing 3D CAD models or technical drawings are preferred for precision verification.

A complete assembly should include a securely sealing reservoir cap to prevent fluid evaporation and contamination, a pre-installed or compatible washer pump port, and a fluid level sensor hole (if applicable). Check that the internal filter/strainer is made of fine mesh to prevent debris from clogging the spray nozzles.

Suppliers must ideally hold IATF 16949:2016 certification, which is the international standard for automotive quality management systems. Additionally, products should comply with REACH and RoHS standards to ensure no hazardous substances are present in the plastic, which is vital for entry into the EU and North American markets.

Automotive tanks are bulky and prone to crushing. Insist on reinforced 5-layer corrugated export cartons and the use of internal bubble wrap or PE bags for each unit. For large volumes, palletization with shrink wrap is essential to prevent shifting. On Made-in-China.com, you can utilize Secured Trading Services to ensure the goods meet your packaging requirements before final payment.

Focus on tooling/mold ownership if you are requesting custom designs. For standard aftermarket parts, negotiate based on Annual Purchase Volume (APV) rather than single orders to secure a 10-15% discount. Ask for a sample lead time of under 7 days and a mass production lead time of 20-30 days to maintain a lean inventory.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have a proven track record of exporting to your specific region. Check their Audit Reports for production capacity and verify if they have experience with customs clearance requirements for automotive parts, such as providing the correct HS Code (typically 8708.99) to avoid tariff misclassification.

Since wiper tanks have a high volume-to-weight ratio, shipping costs can be high. Use Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) for bulk orders to minimize the impact of volumetric weight charges. If sourcing multiple SKUs, consider consolidating shipments from different suppliers into one container to optimize container utilization and reduce per-unit landing costs.
