Clothing storage bag manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Non-woven fabric (typically 90-120 GSM) for breathability to prevent mildew, or Oxford cloth (600D or higher) for superior durability and water resistance. For long-term storage, ensure the material is odorless and eco-friendly, ideally meeting REACH or RoHS standards to ensure no harmful chemicals transfer to the garments.

The zipper is the most common failure point; insist on #5 stainless steel two-way zippers that have undergone cycle testing (at least 5,000 pulls). Handles should feature reinforced 'H' or 'X' cross-stitching and be made of double-layered fabric to support a load capacity of at least 10-15kg without tearing.

For retail and home organization, a transparent PVC window is critical for content identification without opening the bag. For seasonal storage, vacuum-sealable valves can reduce volume by up to 80%. If the target market is high-end, look for bags with internal mesh pockets for cedar blocks or moisture absorbers to enhance garment protection.

If exporting to the US, ensure compliance with CPSIA regarding lead and phthalate content in plastic components. For the EU market, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification is a significant competitive advantage, guaranteeing the textiles are safe for skin contact. Always verify that plastic packaging includes suffocation warnings where required by local law.

Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) and a shipping sample. For large volumes, hire a third-party inspection service to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) or a Final Random Inspection (FRI) focusing on seam strength, zipper smoothness, and fabric weight (GSM) verification.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers (e.g., 1,000 vs. 5,000 units) and ask for customized packaging or logo printing to be included in the price. Mentioning your long-term procurement plan can often secure a 5-10% discount or better payment terms like 30% deposit and 70% against BL copy.

Since storage bags are lightweight but bulky, they are prone to high dimensional weight charges. To optimize costs, use vacuum compression packaging for the bags themselves during transit. For large orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical; for smaller trial orders, Sea + Delivery (Matson/ZIM) offers a balance between speed and cost.
