TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) is more cost-effective, offers a softer, more realistic skin-like texture, and is highly flexible. However, it is porous and requires regular powdering to prevent stickiness. Silicone is non-porous, hypoallergenic, and heat-resistant, making it easier to sanitize and more durable over time, though it is generally more expensive and less elastic than TPE.

Ensure the doll features a high-quality stainless steel or aluminum alloy skeleton with multi-axis joints. This guarantees the doll can hold various poses without the frame snapping. Buyers should also confirm the presence of integrated heating systems and voice modules if targeting the high-end tech-integrated market segment.

Products must be BPA-free and phthalate-free to ensure skin safety. For the US market, compliance with California Proposition 65 is often required. If the doll includes electronic components (heating/vibration), it must carry CE, RoHS, or FCC certifications to pass through customs and meet safety regulations for consumer electronics.

Standard models usually have a lead time of 7-10 days. However, full customization—including bespoke head sculpts, specific skin tones, eye colors, and implanted hair—can extend production to 20-30 days. Buyers should request a detailed production timeline when ordering highly personalized units.

Different countries have varying regulations regarding adult items. It is critical to use discreet packaging and ensure the HS Code (typically 9503.00 or 3926.90) is correctly declared. Always consult with a freight forwarder experienced in sensitive goods to avoid seizures in conservative jurisdictions.

Since these are high-value items, you should hire a third-party inspection service to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Focus on seam integrity, skin blemishes, and joint fluidity. Request a video demonstration of the specific customized unit before it is packed to ensure all bespoke requirements are met.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Utilize Escrow services or Trade Assurance to ensure that funds are only released to the supplier once you have confirmed receipt and quality of the goods.

For bulk orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical choice due to the high weight and volume of the dolls. For urgent samples, Air Freight is possible but expensive. Ensure the supplier uses reinforced, neutral wooden crates or heavy-duty corrugated boxes with internal foam molding to prevent structural damage during transit.
