Drywall screws price manufacturers

Focus on the material grade (typically C1022A hardened steel) and the surface treatment. For standard indoor use, black or grey phosphate coating is essential for corrosion resistance and better adhesion to joint compounds. Ensure the thread type matches your application: fine threads for heavy-gauge metal studs and coarse threads for wood studs. Additionally, verify the head type (bugle head) to ensure it sits flush without tearing the drywall paper.

Request test reports for surface hardness (HV 550-800) and core hardness (HV 290-450) to prevent snapping during installation. Compliance with ASTM C1002 (for wood/light metal) or ASTM C954 (for heavy metal) is a critical benchmark. You should also ask for a salt spray test report (typically 24-48 hours) to validate the rust resistance of the coating.

Pricing is primarily driven by raw material costs (wire rod prices) and order volume. However, packaging requirements (e.g., small branded boxes vs. bulk 25kg cartons) can fluctuate the price by 5-10%. Additionally, collated screws (for auto-feed guns) carry a significant premium over loose screws due to the plastic strip assembly costs.

If purchasing collated drywall screws, confirm the strip compatibility with major tool brands like DeWalt, Hilti, or Makita. The pitch and spacing of the screws on the plastic strip must be precise to avoid jamming. Requesting a physical sample to test with your specific power tools is highly recommended before placing a container-load order.

The most common risk is hydrogen embrittlement, which causes screws to snap under tension. To mitigate this, ensure the supplier performs a de-embrittlement process after plating. Another risk is weight discrepancies; always specify whether the price is based on theoretical weight or actual scale weight to avoid disputes during customs clearance.

Leverage the Annual Purchase Volume (APV) rather than a single order to negotiate a tiered pricing structure. Ask for OEM packaging to be included in the unit price for orders exceeding a 20ft container. For long-term stability, negotiate a price adjustment clause linked to the steel index to protect both parties from market volatility.

Drywall screws are heavy and dense; ensure the supplier uses reinforced pallets and shrink-wrapping to prevent moisture ingress during sea transit. Use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your freight costs and choose a forwarder experienced in handling heavy industrial hardware to optimize container loading and prevent floor damage.

Utilize Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. Always hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a random sampling (AQL 2.5/4.0) at the factory before the final balance is paid, focusing on dimension accuracy, thread sharpness, and quantity verification.
