Electrolysis manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize Electrolyzer Type (PEM, Alkaline, or Solid Oxide) based on their energy source. Key metrics include Current Density (A/cm²), Energy Consumption (kWh/Nm³ of H2), and Gas Purity levels (typically 99.999%). Ensure the system includes a robust Balance of Plant (BoP), including water deionization units and gas-liquid separators.

For global trade, equipment must adhere to ISO 22734 (Hydrogen generators using water electrolysis). European markets require CE Marking and compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU. For North America, look for UL 2264A or ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) certifications to ensure operational safety.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the initial CAPEX. Evaluate the Stack Lifetime (operating hours before replacement), which should ideally exceed 60,000 to 80,000 hours. Additionally, check the Turndown Ratio, as the ability to operate efficiently at partial loads is critical when integrating with intermittent renewable energy like solar or wind.

To prevent corrosion, ensure the use of High-Grade Stainless Steel (316L) or Nickel-plated components for alkaline systems. For PEM electrolyzers, verify the quality of Titanium Bipolar Plates and the Platinum/Iridium catalyst loading, as these directly impact the degradation rate and efficiency of the unit.

The main risks include Technical Mismatch and Damage during Transit. Because these are high-precision instruments, ensure the supplier provides Seaworthy Vacuum Packaging to prevent moisture ingress. Always utilize Third-Party Pre-shipment Inspections (PSI) to verify that the internal stack configuration matches the agreed-upon technical datasheet.

Negotiate based on Milestone Payments (e.g., 30% deposit, 40% after successful factory testing, 30% after installation/commissioning). Request a Performance Guarantee clause that links final payment to the machine reaching its rated hydrogen output and purity levels during the site acceptance test (SAT).

Electrolysis systems often contain sensitive membranes or pressurized tanks. Use FR (Flat Rack) or OT (Open Top) containers for oversized modules. Ensure the bill of lading specifies 'No Stacking' and 'Fragile'. It is highly recommended to purchase All-Risk Marine Insurance covering 110% of the CIF value to mitigate financial loss from handling accidents.

Utilize Secured Payment Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until shipping documents are verified. For enterprise-level purchases, consider using a Letter of Credit (L/C) to ensure that payment is only released upon the supplier meeting all regulatory and documentation requirements.
