Halogen 12v 20w lamp manufacturers

Buyers must verify the base type (commonly G4, GU4, or GY6.35) to ensure compatibility with fixtures. It is critical to confirm the luminous flux, which should typically range between 250 to 350 lumens for a 20w rating. Additionally, check the color temperature, usually around 2800K to 3000K (Warm White), and ensure a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 100 for optimal light quality.

For global trade, products must adhere to CE and RoHS certifications to ensure they are free from hazardous substances. For the North American market, UL or ETL listing is preferred for safety assurance. Since these are low-voltage (12v) lamps, they must be used with a compatible transformer; ensure the lamps are rated for both AC and DC if the power supply varies.

Standard 12v 20w halogen lamps should have a rated life of 2,000 to 4,000 hours. Ask suppliers for accelerated life test reports. High-quality lamps utilize UV-stop quartz glass to prevent fading of illuminated objects and feature reinforced filaments to withstand minor vibrations, which is essential for specialized applications like RV or marine lighting.

For accent or display lighting, look for lamps with integrated reflectors (MR11 or MR16) to control beam angles. For under-cabinet or task lighting, compact capsule (JC type) bulbs are preferred. If the application involves dimming, verify that the lamps are fully dimmable, which is a native advantage of halogen technology compared to low-cost LEDs.

The main risk is filament breakage or glass cracking due to vibration. Ensure the supplier uses five-layer corrugated export cartons and individual inner box packaging with foam or bubble inserts. It is highly recommended to include a fragile goods clause in your shipping contract and consider CIF terms to include insurance for high-volume orders.

Halogen lamps are high-volume commodities; typical MOQs range from 1,000 to 5,000 pieces. To get the best price, request a tiered pricing structure (e.g., 5k, 10k, and 50k units). You can often negotiate a 5-10% discount by committing to a regular purchasing schedule or by consolidating multiple lamp specifications under one manufacturer to increase total order value.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. Before placing a bulk order, request a factory audit report or a Gold Member profile verification to ensure the supplier is a legitimate manufacturer rather than a small trading company with no quality control.

Be aware of energy efficiency regulations in regions like the EU (Ecodesign Directive), which are phasing out certain halogen types. Ensure your HS Code (typically 853921) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. Check if your country imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese lighting products to accurately calculate your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
