Ice cream counter manufacturers

When sourcing an ice cream counter, prioritize compressor quality (brands like Embraco or Secop are preferred) to ensure stable cooling. The temperature range must be adjustable, typically between -18°C to -24°C for hard ice cream or -2°C to -8°C for gelato. Ensure the unit uses tempered glass with anti-fog heating wires to maintain visibility in high-humidity environments. Additionally, look for LED lighting with low heat emission to prevent surface melting.

For the North American market, ETL, NSF, or UL certifications are essential for food safety and electrical compliance. For the European market, CE marking and RoHS compliance are required. Ensure the refrigerant used is eco-friendly and compliant with local regulations, such as R290 or R404a, to avoid import restrictions related to high Global Warming Potential (GWP) gases.

Choose between ventilated (air-cooled) and static cooling systems. Ventilated cooling is superior for display counters as it ensures uniform temperature distribution across all pans, though it requires precise humidity control to prevent the product from drying out. Ensure the counter has an automatic defrost function to prevent ice buildup on the evaporator, which can reduce cooling efficiency by up to 30%.

The interior and food-contact surfaces must be made of food-grade 304 stainless steel to prevent corrosion and ensure hygiene. The exterior should be powder-coated steel or high-quality marble/granite for durability. Verify that the insulation layer uses high-density polyurethane (PU) foam (at least 60mm thickness) to minimize energy consumption and maintain cold retention during power fluctuations.

Refrigeration equipment is highly sensitive to tilt and vibration. Insist that the supplier uses seaworthy plywood crate packaging (not just cartons) with shock-absorption pallets. Request 'Do Not Tilt' indicators on the packaging. Before shipping, ensure the supplier provides a pre-shipment inspection video showing the unit running and reaching the target temperature.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare parts kits (e.g., extra thermostats, fans, or gaskets) to be included in the initial order. For bulk purchases, aim for a 10-15% discount or request an extended warranty period (e.g., 2 years on the compressor). Always verify the supplier's Audited Supplier status on Made-in-China.com to ensure factory legitimacy.

Voltage and frequency vary globally. You must specify your requirement (e.g., 110V/60Hz for the US, 220V/50Hz for Europe/Asia) during the inquiry stage. Using a transformer is inefficient for compressors; it is critical that the motor and compressor are natively wound for your local power grid to prevent premature failure.

Ice cream counters are bulky and heavy. Use FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable freight forwarder, or CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) if you want the supplier to handle transit to your port. Ensure the HS Code (typically 8418.50) is correctly declared to avoid tariff penalties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that may apply to stainless steel products in certain regions.
