L-lysine manufacturers

When evaluating L-Lysine, the primary focus should be on purity levels (typically ≥98.5% for HCL grade) and the specific form (L-Lysine HCL vs. L-Lysine Sulphate). For feed-grade products, check the granularity and flowability to ensure even mixing. For food or pharmaceutical grades, verify the heavy metal content (Lead ≤5ppm, Arsenic ≤2ppm) and loss on drying (≤1.0%) to ensure the product meets international pharmacopeia standards like USP or EP.

Compliance depends on the end-use application. For animal nutrition, FAMI-QS or GMP+ certifications are essential. If the product is intended for human consumption, ensure the supplier holds ISO 22000, HACCP, and HALAL/KOSHER certifications. For the US market, FDA registration is a prerequisite, while European buyers must ensure the manufacturer complies with REACH regulations.

Most industrial L-Lysine is produced via microbial fermentation using corn starch as a raw material. Therefore, the price is highly correlated with corn market fluctuations. Advanced suppliers use high-yield strain technology and membrane filtration, which results in a more stable product with fewer impurities. Buyers should prioritize suppliers with integrated supply chains (owning their own corn processing facilities) to ensure price stability and consistent quality.

L-Lysine HCL 98.5% is the industry standard with higher lysine content and better solubility, making it preferred for concentrated premixes. L-Lysine Sulphate (65% or 70%) is a more cost-effective alternative that contains other fermentation by-products like other amino acids and carbohydrates, which can provide additional nutritional value in bulk animal feed. Choosing between them depends on your formulation requirements and logistics costs.

The amino acid market is volatile due to raw material costs and environmental policies. It is recommended to sign long-term framework agreements with a fixed pricing formula or use staggered purchasing (buying in batches) rather than a single large order. Always monitor the export policy changes in major producing regions like China to anticipate supply shifts.

To ensure security, use Trade Assurance services on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Before shipping, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct random sampling and lab testing for purity and contaminants. Never release the final payment until the Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) report confirms the goods match the COA (Certificate of Analysis).

L-Lysine is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture), so it must be packed in multi-layer paper bags with a PE inner liner or 1000kg jumbo bags. For sea freight, ensure the container is dry and use desiccants to prevent caking. Clearly define the Incoterms (e.g., CIF vs. FOB) in the contract; for chemical powders, FOB is often preferred if you have a reliable freight forwarder experienced in handling bulk additives.

Request the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification. Check if they are a 'Diamond Member' or 'Audited Supplier' on Made-in-China.com, as these statuses indicate the supplier has undergone rigorous on-site verification. Additionally, ask for recent Bill of Lading (B/L) copies to prove their experience in exporting to your specific region.
