Led filament bulb manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Luminous Efficacy, aiming for at least 100-120 lm/W to ensure energy efficiency. The Color Rendering Index (CRI) is crucial for aesthetics; a CRI >80 is standard, but CRI >90 is preferred for high-end retail or hospitality. Additionally, verify the Driver Type (IC constant current drivers are superior to RC drivers for stability) and the Glass Coating (clear, amber, or frosted) to match the desired ambiance.

Compliance varies by target market: For the EU, bulbs must have CE-LVD, CE-EMC, and RoHS certifications, and meet the latest ErP (Energy-related Products) eco-design requirements. For the USA, UL or ETL listing is essential for safety, while Energy Star or Title 24 (JA8) certification is often required for rebates and high-efficiency projects. Ensure the supplier provides valid test reports from accredited labs.

Unlike traditional LEDs, filament bulbs rely on Helium gas filling inside the glass envelope to dissipate heat. Ask suppliers for the gas purity levels and thermal test reports. A high-quality bulb should maintain a lifespan of 15,000 to 25,000 hours. Check for L70 reports, which indicate the time it takes for light output to fall to 70% of its initial level.

If the project requires dimming, you must specify 'Dimmable' versions using Triac (Leading/Trailing edge) or 0-10V systems. It is vital to request a dimmer compatibility list from the manufacturer to prevent flickering or buzzing, which are common issues when drivers and dimmers are mismatched.

LED filament bulbs are highly fragile. You should mandate 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and individual color box packaging with internal plastic or foam inserts (blister packs). Request a Drop Test Report (ISTA 1A or 2A) from the supplier before shipment. For bulk sea freight, ensure the use of pallets with stretch wrap to minimize manual handling shocks.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Use Made-in-China.com to identify Audited Suppliers with high 'Trust Points.' When negotiating, link price breaks to MOQ tiers (e.g., 1k, 5k, 10k units) and insist on a 2-3 year warranty backed by a 1% spare parts allowance included in the FOB price.

Utilize Secure Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to hold funds until shipping documents are verified. Always hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). The inspection should cover AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standards, focusing on high-voltage insulation tests and functional flickering checks.

Ensure the HS Code (typically 8539.52) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties or specific tariffs (like Section 301 for US-China trade). For shipping, FOB (Free On Board) is recommended for experienced buyers to control freight costs, while DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is better for smaller businesses wanting a hassle-free door-to-door solution.
