Outdoor chair manufacturers

When sourcing outdoor chairs, prioritize weather-resistant materials such as Grade A Teak, powder-coated aluminum (6063 alloy), or High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) lumber. For metal frames, ensure a minimum coating thickness of 60-80 microns to prevent oxidation. If the product uses synthetic wicker, verify it is UV-stabilized PE rattan (not PVC) to prevent brittleness and fading under direct sunlight.

For the European market, products must adhere to EN 581-1/2/3, which specifies safety, strength, and durability requirements for outdoor seating. For the US market, ensure compliance with ASTM B117 (Salt Spray Test) for corrosion resistance and CAL TB 117-2013 for flame retardancy if cushions are included. Always request ISO 9227 reports to verify performance in high-humidity or coastal environments.

Request a Static Load Test report showing the chair can withstand at least 150kg to 200kg (330-440 lbs) for standard use. For commercial applications (hotels/restaurants), look for reinforced welding points and stainless steel (304 or 316 grade) hardware. Check for non-slip foot pads that are securely fastened to ensure stability on various surfaces like decks or poolside tiles.

Specify solution-dyed acrylic fabrics (such as Sunbrella or high-quality local equivalents) because the color is integrated into the fiber, offering superior UV resistance (Grade 4.0+ after 1000 hours). Ensure the inner foam is Quick-Dry Foam (reticulated foam), which allows water to drain rapidly, preventing mold and mildew growth.

Implement a three-stage inspection strategy: 1. Pre-production sample approval to lock in material quality. 2. During-production inspection (DUPRO) to check frame welding and coating. 3. Pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek. Always use Trade Assurance or Letters of Credit (L/C) to ensure payment is only released upon verification of shipping documents and quality compliance.

Outdoor chairs are high-volume items; therefore, prioritize stackable designs or Knock-Down (KD) packaging to maximize container utilization (CBM optimization). For large orders, FCL (Full Container Load) is significantly more economical than LCL. When sourcing from China, utilize platforms like Made-in-China.com to find suppliers near major ports like Ningbo or Shenzhen to reduce inland trucking costs.

Start by asking for a tiered pricing structure based on volume (e.g., 100, 500, 1000 units). If you require OEM/ODM customization (like logo embossing or custom colors), expect a higher MOQ of at least 200-300 units. Negotiate for spare parts (2-3% extra foot caps, screws, and fabric swatches) to be included in the initial order to handle minor after-sales issues without international shipping delays.

Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions (like the EU or USA) may apply to specific furniture categories from certain countries. Verify the Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 9401.71 for metal frame outdoor seats) with your customs broker to calculate accurate import duties and taxes before finalizing the purchase.
