Plastic slats chicken floor manufacturers

B2B buyers should prioritize slats made from 100% virgin High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Polypropylene (PP). These materials ensure the floor is UV-resistant, anti-aging, and chemically stable against ammonia from poultry droppings. Avoid recycled plastics, as they tend to become brittle and crack under the weight of adult birds or temperature fluctuations.

The hole size and shape are critical; for broilers, a hole size of approximately 20x20mm or 25x25mm is standard to allow for efficient manure leakage while preventing foot injuries. The surface must have a non-slip texture to prevent leg deformities (spraddle leg) and should feature smooth, rounded edges to minimize breast blisters and skin abrasions.

A professional-grade plastic slat should support a static load of at least 200-300kg per square meter. It is essential to verify the reinforcement ribs on the underside of the slat. Suppliers on Made-in-China.com often provide test reports showing the slat can withstand the weight of both the birds and the maintenance workers during cleaning cycles.

Ensure the slats feature a stable interlocking system (jigsaw or snap-fit) to prevent shifting. Buyers must confirm if the supplier provides the supporting leg system, which usually consists of PVC support pipes and glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) beams. The height should be adjustable to facilitate manure scraper systems or deep-pit cleaning.

Always request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI). Since plastic slats are high-volume items, a random stress test should be conducted to ensure the batch isn't brittle. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure that payment is only released once the shipping documents and quality benchmarks are verified.

Plastic slats are volumetric cargo. To optimize shipping costs, ask the supplier to provide the nesting dimensions (how many slats fit into a stack). For large-scale farms, Full Container Load (FCL) is highly recommended over LCL to reduce the risk of edge damage during transit and to lower the per-unit landed cost.

If you require a specific color (e.g., high-visibility white or green) or added flame retardants, the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) usually increases to 500-1,000 pieces. Negotiate for spare parts (extra clips and support caps) to be included in the bulk price, typically representing 2-3% of the total order volume to account for long-term wear.

Ensure the product complies with REACH or RoHS standards to guarantee no toxic heavy metals are present that could leach into the poultry environment. For customs clearance, verify the HS Code (typically 3926.90) and check for any anti-dumping duties on plastic products specific to your importing country.
