Polo shorts manufacturers

For premium Polo Shorts, prioritize 100% combed cotton or Pique knit fabrics for breathability and a classic texture. If sourcing for performance or casual wear, a 95% cotton and 5% spandex blend is recommended to provide necessary elasticity and shape retention. Ensure the fabric weight is between 200-240 GSM (grams per square meter) to balance durability with summer comfort.

Buyers must ensure suppliers adhere to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which guarantees the absence of harmful substances in textiles. For the US market, compliance with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is mandatory, especially regarding lead content in buttons or zippers. For European markets, ensure the supplier follows REACH regulations for chemical safety.

Focus on the stitching density, aiming for at least 10-12 stitches per inch to prevent seam failure. Check for reinforced bar-tacking at stress points like pocket corners and the crotch area. Additionally, request colorfastness test reports (Grade 4 or higher) to ensure the shorts do not bleed or fade after multiple washes, particularly for dark colors like navy or black.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com usually offer OEM/ODM services, including custom embroidery logos, branded waistbands, and personalized hangtags. You should also inquire about custom dyeing (Pantone matching) if your brand requires specific seasonal colors, though this may increase the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ).

Always utilize Third-Party Inspection services (such as SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). This ensures the batch meets your specific AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standards before the final payment is released. Furthermore, sourcing from Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com provides an extra layer of security as their production capabilities have been verified.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Discuss tiered pricing where the unit cost drops as volume increases. If you are a long-term buyer, negotiate for shorter lead times or favorable payment terms (e.g., 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading) rather than 100% upfront payment.

For small trial orders or high-value samples, Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is fastest but costly. For bulk commercial orders, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical choice. When shipping to the US or Europe, consider DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms if you want the supplier to handle all customs clearances and duties, simplifying your internal logistics.

Use Secured Payment services offered by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts. Ensure all product specifications, packaging requirements, and delivery timelines are clearly documented in a Proforma Invoice (PI) or a formal purchase contract to provide legal recourse in case of disputes.
