Set matcha bowl manufacturers

A complete professional set must include a Chawan (Ceramic Bowl), Chasen (Bamboo Whisk), Chashaku (Bamboo Scoop), and a Kusenaoshi (Whisk Holder). For the bowl, prioritize lead-free and cadmium-free ceramic or porcelain that complies with FDA or EU Food Contact Safety standards. The whisk should be crafted from sustainable, high-quality bamboo with a high prong count (80-120 tines) to ensure a fine, consistent froth.

Focus on the glaze integrity and thermal shock resistance. The bowl should withstand temperature changes without cracking. Ensure the base is perfectly leveled to prevent wobbling during whisking. For B2B sourcing, request kiln-firing temperature data; high-fire ceramics (above 1200°C) offer superior chip resistance and lower porosity, which prevents tea stains from penetrating the surface.

Since these are food-contact items, you must verify LFGB (Germany/Europe) or FDA (USA) compliance. If the set includes a wooden tray or bamboo tools, ensure the supplier provides a Phytosanitary Certificate to clear customs smoothly. Additionally, check for ISO 9001 certification of the manufacturer to guarantee batch-to-batch consistency in glaze thickness and material purity.

The prong count determines the tea's texture. 80 to 100 tines are standard for 'Usucha' (thin tea), providing the best aeration for a creamy foam layer. For 'Koicha' (thick tea), a whisk with fewer, thicker prongs (48-64 tines) is preferred. B2B buyers should stock 100-tine whisks as they are the most versatile for retail and cafe environments.

The main risk is breakage during transit due to the fragile nature of ceramics. Ensure the supplier uses 5-layer corrugated export cartons and custom-fit EPE foam or molded pulp packaging for each component. It is highly recommended to use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to protect your payment until the goods arrive and pass a breakage inspection.

For private labeling, most top-tier suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM services with an MOQ of 500-1000 sets. Negotiate for laser-engraved logos on the bamboo whisk handle and custom-printed gift boxes. Ask for a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 10-15% when moving from 500 to 2,000 units.

For orders under 200kg, Air Freight or Express (DHL/FedEx) is faster but costly. For bulk B2B orders, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined as FOB (Free on Board) to maintain control over the shipping costs and insurance. Always request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) to verify the moisture content of bamboo items to prevent mold during long sea voyages.

Look for Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site verification by third-party agencies like SGS or Intertek. Check their export history to your specific region and request material safety data sheets (MSDS) for the glazes used on the bowls to ensure they are non-toxic.
