Shirts trousers manufacturers

For shirts, prioritize long-staple cotton or CVC (Chief Value Cotton) blends for breathability and durability. For trousers, look for high-density twill or TR (Polyester Rayon) fabrics that offer wrinkle resistance and shape retention. Ensure the fabric weight (GSM) matches the intended season: 110-140 GSM for summer shirts and 240-320 GSM for durable workwear trousers.

Suppliers should comply with ISO 9001 for quality management. For chemical safety, ensure products meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 or REACH regulations (especially for the EU market). If targeting the US, verify compliance with CPSIA for lead and phthalate content in buttons and zippers. Always request AATCC or ISO test reports for colorfastness and shrinkage (which should be within ±3%).

Check for reinforced stitching (at least 10-12 stitches per inch) and bar-tacking at stress points like pocket corners and belt loops. For shirts, verify the use of high-quality interlining in collars and cuffs to prevent bubbling after washing. For trousers, ensure YKK or equivalent brand zippers are used to avoid hardware failure.

Maximize value by reaching the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), which typically starts at 500-1,000 pieces per style/color to reduce fabric wastage. Consider FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over shipping costs. Additionally, choosing stock fabrics instead of custom-dyed colors can reduce costs by 15-20% and shorten lead times significantly.

Always implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third-party agency like SGS or Intertek. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after the goods pass quality verification. Never skip the Golden Sample stage; ensure the final production matches the signed-off sample in every detail.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers and ask for transparency in the Bill of Materials (BOM). Establishing a long-term partnership can often secure better lead times and priority during peak seasons (e.g., before Chinese New Year).

Ensure the supplier provides an accurate HS Code (e.g., 6205 for shirts, 6203 for trousers) to avoid customs delays and incorrect duty calculations. For large volumes, Sea Freight (LCL/FCL) is most economical, while Air Freight is reserved for urgent samples or high-value fashion drops. Always verify the Country of Origin (COO) labeling requirements for your specific region.

Conduct business through reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offers Audit Reports for suppliers. Use secure payment methods such as Letters of Credit (L/C) for large orders or Escrow-based systems for smaller transactions to protect your capital against non-delivery or fraud.
