Smd led strip factory manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the type of SMD chip (e.g., SMD 2835 for efficiency, SMD 5050 for brightness) and the LED density (LEDs per meter), which affects light uniformity. Ensure the factory uses high-quality PCB (Printed Circuit Board) with at least 2oz or 3oz copper thickness to prevent voltage drop and overheating. Additionally, verify the Color Rendering Index (CRI); for professional projects, a CRI >90 is essential for accurate color representation.

Depending on the usage scenario, you must specify the IP Rating. For indoor dry areas, IP20 is sufficient; however, for bathrooms or outdoor use, require IP65 (silicone coating) or IP67/IP68 (silicone tube or resin filling). Ask the factory for UV resistance reports if the strips will be exposed to sunlight, and confirm the use of genuine 3M adhesive tape on the back to ensure long-term mounting stability.

To ensure safety and legal entry into global markets, the factory must provide CE and RoHS certifications for Europe, and UL or ETL listing for the North American market. For high-end projects, check for LM-80 test reports, which validate the lumen maintenance and expected lifespan of the LEDs. Factories listed on Made-in-China.com often undergo SGS or TÜV Rheinland field audits, which you should request to verify production capacity.

Color shifting is a common issue in B2B sourcing. You must demand that the factory follows a 3-step or 5-step MacAdam Ellipse (Binning) process. This ensures that the Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) remains consistent across different production runs. Professional factories should provide a Spectrophotometer test report for every batch to guarantee that the light output matches your initial samples.

This is a common cost-cutting tactic. Request a sample and perform a bend test or check the weight; pure copper is heavier and more flexible. Explicitly state in your Purchase Order (PO) that the PCB must be 100% rolled-annealed copper. Use the Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to hold payment until a third-party pre-shipment inspection confirms the material specifications.

Do not just negotiate on the total price; negotiate on the component level. Ask for a breakdown of the chip brand (e.g., San'an, Epistar), PCB thickness, and warranty period. A lower price often means a shorter warranty. Aim for a 3 to 5-year warranty and negotiate a 2-5% spare parts allowance to cover potential dead-on-arrival (DOA) units during installation.

LED strips are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) and moisture. Ensure the factory uses anti-static vacuum-sealed bags for each reel. For bulk sea freight, specify the use of strong outer cartons with corner protectors and pallets to prevent crushing. If shipping to the US or EU, ensure the HS Code (typically 940542) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays and ensure compliance with import duties.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export License. Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com, as their facilities and financial standings have been verified by independent agencies. Use Escrow-based payment methods where funds are only released upon your confirmation of receipt and quality, reducing the risk of fraud or non-delivery.
