Starfish keychains manufacturers

Starfish keychains are primarily available in Zinc Alloy, PVC/Silicone, and Natural Resin. Zinc alloy offers a premium metallic feel and high durability for retail, while PVC is cost-effective and flexible, making it ideal for promotional giveaways. If using real dried starfish encased in resin, ensure the resin is UV-resistant to prevent yellowing over time.

For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), specifically testing for lead and phthalate content. For the EU, REACH compliance is mandatory to ensure no harmful chemicals are present. If the keychain includes small parts, it must carry a choking hazard warning for children under 3 years old.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer laser engraving, silk-screen printing, or custom mold injection. For a high-end look, consider soft enamel coloring or 3D embossed logos on a metal tag attached to the keychain. Always request a pre-production sample to verify color accuracy (Pantone matching).

Focus on the attachment mechanism. High-quality keychains use 360-degree swivel clasps and heat-treated split rings to prevent deformation. Ensure the electroplating layer (gold, silver, or rose gold) has an anti-oxidation coating to prevent tarnishing during sea freight and long-term storage.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released after shipment. Additionally, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) focusing on the salt spray test results and plating thickness.

For orders under 100kg, Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is most efficient, offering door-to-door delivery in 3-7 days. For bulk orders exceeding 500kg, LCL (Less than Container Load) Sea Freight is significantly more economical. Ensure the supplier uses double-corrugated export cartons and inner polybags to protect against moisture during transit.

Start by asking for a tiered pricing structure (e.g., 500, 1000, and 5000 units). Many manufacturers will offer a lower MOQ for 'in-stock' designs but require higher volumes for custom molds. Negotiate for free mold fees if the total order value exceeds a certain threshold (usually $2,000 - $5,000).

If the product uses genuine biological starfish, you must verify if the species is listed under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species). Most commercial starfish are not, but you will need a Fumigation Certificate and a Phytosanitary Certificate to clear customs in many countries to avoid shipment seizure.
