T-shirts jeans manufacturers

For T-shirts, prioritize 100% Combed Cotton or Cotton-Polyester blends (60/40) for a balance of breathability and durability. Pay attention to the GSM (Grams per Square Meter); 160-180 GSM is standard, while 200+ GSM is considered heavyweight/premium. For Jeans, look for 12oz to 14oz denim weight for longevity. Ensure the fabric includes 2-3% Spandex (Elastane) if you are targeting the 'stretch fit' market, and verify that the denim has undergone pre-shrinking (Sanforization) to prevent size discrepancies after the first wash.

Suppliers must provide OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to ensure the textiles are free from harmful chemicals. For the US market, compliance with the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is mandatory, especially regarding lead content in zippers and buttons. For the EU, ensure adherence to REACH regulations. If your brand focuses on sustainability, look for GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifications to validate eco-friendly claims.

Request high-resolution photos or videos focusing on Reinforcement Stitching (such as bar-tacks on jean pockets) and Flatlock or Double-Needle stitching on T-shirt hems. Ask for a Point of Measurement (POM) sheet to verify sizing consistency. For jeans, specifically inquire about the brand of hardware; YKK zippers are the industry gold standard for reliability. You should also request a Crocking Test report to ensure the indigo dye in the jeans does not rub off excessively on other surfaces.

Beyond simple Screen Printing, discuss DTG (Direct to Garment) for complex designs or High-Density Embroidery for premium branding. For jeans, explore Custom Shank Buttons, Rivets, and Leather Back-Patches. Inquire if the supplier offers Private Labeling (woven neck labels) and Custom Hangtags. Many top-tier suppliers on Made-in-China.com provide 'Full Package Production' (FPP), handling everything from fabric sourcing to final retail-ready packaging.

Always utilize Secure Payment Services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are protected until the goods are shipped. Conduct a Third-Party Factory Audit (such as SGS or Intertek) to verify the supplier's production capacity and social compliance (BSCI/Sedex). Never pay the full balance upfront; a standard industry practice is a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L) or after a successful pre-shipment inspection.

Do not just negotiate on unit price; negotiate on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) flexibility and Lead Times. If a supplier's price is high, ask for a breakdown of Fabric Weight vs. Construction Cost. You can often lower the price by committing to a Long-term Forecast or by using 'stock fabrics' already available in the factory. Always clarify Incoterms (e.g., FOB vs. DDP) early in the negotiation to avoid hidden logistics costs later.

Apparel is often subject to specific HS Codes (e.g., 6109.10 for Cotton T-shirts, 6203.42 for Cotton Jeans) which determine the import duty rates. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that may apply to specific countries of origin. For large volumes, Sea Freight (FCL/LCL) is the most economical, but for seasonal fashion launches, consider Air Freight to reduce time-to-market. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed Packing List and Commercial Invoice that matches the physical goods exactly to avoid customs delays.
