Buyers must prioritize Lens Quality and Field of View (FOV). Look for aspheric optical resin lenses with a diameter of at least 40-42mm to minimize distortion. A FOV of 90 to 120 degrees is standard for an immersive experience. Additionally, ensure the device supports Interpupillary Distance (IPD) adjustment and object distance adjustment to accommodate users with different eyesight requirements, including those with myopia.

Verify the supported screen size range, typically between 4.5 to 7.0 inches. It is crucial to check the physical dimensions (length and width) of the internal tray to ensure modern large-screen smartphones fit. Furthermore, ensure the design allows for heat dissipation through ventilation holes and provides access for headphone jacks or charging cables while the phone is mounted.

The face padding should be made of breathable perforated leather or high-elasticity sponge to prevent sweating and skin irritation. The head strap must be a T-shaped adjustable design to distribute pressure evenly across the head rather than just the face. For the casing, ABS+PC material is preferred for its impact resistance and lightweight properties, ideally keeping the total weight under 400g (excluding the phone).

For the US market, FCC certification is required if the VR Box includes a Bluetooth controller. For the EU, CE marking and RoHS compliance (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) are mandatory. If the product includes integrated electronics or batteries, ensure they meet UN38.3 and MSDS standards for safe international transport.

Always request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third-party agency. Focus on the clamping mechanism's durability and the clarity of the lenses. Since VR Boxes are prone to scratches, insist on protective films on lenses and individual anti-static packaging. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can provide an extra layer of payment protection until the goods are verified.

Negotiate based on Tiered Pricing; for instance, aim for a 15-20% discount when moving from 500 to 2,000 units. Request OEM branding (logo printing) and customized packaging as part of the bulk price rather than an add-on cost. For long-term partnerships, negotiate a 1-2% spare parts allowance (extra straps or pads) to handle minor defects without needing returns.

VR Boxes are high-volume but relatively low-weight, meaning you will likely be charged based on Volumetric Weight. To optimize costs, ask the supplier to minimize retail box dimensions or ship in flat-pack bulk packaging if you have local assembly capabilities. Ensure the HS Code (typically 9004.90) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays and verify the latest import tariffs between the shipping origin and your country.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com, as these manufacturers have undergone on-site verification of their facilities and business licenses. Check the supplier's export history and response rate. Avoid making full payments upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm for securing the transaction.
