Wax fabric manufacturers

When sourcing Wax Fabric, you must prioritize 100% combed cotton bases to ensure breathability and durability. The standard weight should be between 120-140 GSM (grams per square meter). Pay close attention to the yarn count, typically 40s x 40s, which determines the fineness of the weave. Additionally, verify the colorfastness rating (Grade 4 or higher) to ensure the vibrant patterns do not bleed during washing.

Real Wax (Batik method) uses a resin or wax-resist dyeing process where the pattern is visible on both sides of the fabric with equal intensity. Imitation Wax (Fancy Prints) is usually screen-printed on one side, resulting in a distinct 'wrong side' with faded colors. For premium B2B markets, always request double-sided printing to ensure the authentic aesthetic required for high-end African fashion.

Ensure the fabric complies with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which guarantees the absence of harmful azo dyes and chemicals. For the US market, compliance with the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is necessary if the fabric is intended for children's apparel. For the EU, ensure the supplier adheres to REACH regulations regarding chemical substances.

Wax Fabric is highly versatile, primarily used for traditional African attire, modern fashion design, and home upholstery. In the corporate sector, it is increasingly used for promotional merchandise, interior decor (cushions/curtains), and fashion accessories like bags and headwraps. Suppliers on Made-in-China.com often offer customization for specific corporate patterns or branding.

Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) before the full run. Utilize third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a 'During Production Check' (DUPRO) to verify width consistency (usually 45 or 46 inches) and check for printing defects like 'misregistration' or white spots.

Focus on the Price per Yard based on volume tiers. Standard packaging is 6 yards or 12 yards per piece; negotiating a lower MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for a wider variety of designs is often more beneficial than a deep discount on a single pattern. Ask for exclusivity agreements if you are developing a unique custom print.

Fabric is heavy and bulky. For cost-efficiency, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is recommended for orders over 500kg. Ensure the supplier uses waterproof PVC inner packaging and reinforced woven bags for the outer layer to prevent moisture damage and tearing during transit. For urgent samples, Air Express is viable but costly.

Use Secured Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon confirmation of shipment. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Always trade under Incoterms 2020 (e.g., FOB or CIF) to clearly define the point where risk transfers from the seller to the buyer.
