Wholesale gold chains manufacturers

Buyers must distinguish between Solid Gold (10K, 14K, 18K, 24K), Gold Filled, and Gold Plated (Vermeil). For B2B sourcing, 14K gold is the industry standard for balancing durability and intrinsic value. Ensure the supplier provides a fineness certificate and that each piece is stamped with the correct hallmark (e.g., 585 for 14K). Additionally, verify that the base metal is nickel-free and lead-free to prevent allergic reactions and ensure compliance with health standards.

Focus on the link integrity and clasp mechanism. High-quality chains should have soldered links to prevent snapping under tension. The lobster claw clasp is generally preferred over spring rings for wholesale due to its higher durability. Request information on the plating thickness (measured in microns) for gold-plated items; a thickness of 2.5 microns is required for 'Vermeil' status, ensuring long-term wear resistance.

For the US market, products must comply with the FTC Jewelry Guides regarding marking and descriptions. For the EU, adherence to the REACH Regulation (specifically regarding nickel release) is mandatory. Always request Third-Party Lab Test Reports (such as SGS or Intertek) to verify metal purity and the absence of hazardous substances. On Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers who have undergone onsite inspections to ensure their production facilities meet international standards.

Gold jewelry is primarily priced based on the daily market gold rate plus a labor fee (making charge). Because gold is a high-value, high-density commodity, even small variations in gram weight significantly impact the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Use precision digital scales for QC and ensure the shipping invoice reflects the exact net weight to avoid discrepancies during customs clearance.

Never rely solely on visual inspection. Implement a multi-stage verification process: first, request a pre-shipment sample; second, hire a third-party inspector to perform an XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis on the bulk lot before final payment. Using Secure Payment services on platforms like Made-in-China.com can protect your funds until the quality is verified.

Negotiate the 'Labor/Making Charge' separately from the 'Gold Material Cost'. Since the price of gold fluctuates daily, professional buyers lock in the gold price on the day of the order or use a floating price formula. For bulk orders exceeding 5kg, aim for a 10-15% reduction in labor costs and request free laser-logo engraving as a value-added service.

Always use specialized courier services (like FedEx/UPS high-value divisions) that offer door-to-door tracking and signature required delivery. It is mandatory to purchase Full Value Insurance for the shipment. Ensure the packaging is discreet and tamper-evident; the outer box should not indicate that the contents are gold or jewelry to prevent theft during transit.

Check the HS Code (typically 7113.19) for your specific country to determine import duties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties or specific trade sanctions that may apply to precious metals. Ensure the Certificate of Origin is accurately prepared to take advantage of any Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that could reduce or eliminate customs duties.
