Wholesale sherpa jacket manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize 100% polyester synthetic sheepskin or high-pile fleece with a weight ranging from 300gsm to 500gsm for optimal warmth and texture. Ensure the lining material (such as micro-fleece, jersey, or quilted taffeta) is specified to prevent shedding and improve skin comfort. For premium markets, verify the anti-pilling treatment and colorfastness to rubbing (Grade 4 or higher) to ensure long-term durability.

For the US market, products must comply with 16 CFR Part 1610 (Standard for the Flammability of Clothing Textiles), which is critical for high-pile fabrics like Sherpa. For the EU, ensure adherence to REACH regulations regarding Azo dyes and heavy metals. Additionally, look for OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 or GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifications if you are marketing the jackets as eco-friendly or sustainable.

Focus on seam strength and finishing; Sherpa fabric is bulky, so reinforced overlock stitching is necessary to prevent seam slippage. Check the quality of hardware, specifically YKK or SBS zippers, and ensure the presence of a chin guard or storm flap. Request a pre-production sample (PPS) to inspect the 'hand-feel' and ensure the pile does not shed excessively when pulled.

Most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services, including custom embroidery, PVC patches, or woven labels. You can also request contrast fabric paneling (e.g., taslan or nylon chest pockets) and customized zipper pulls. Ensure you provide a detailed Tech Pack to the supplier to minimize errors in sizing and logo placement.

Always implement a Third-Party Inspection (TPI) such as DUPRO (During Production Inspection) or FRI (Final Random Inspection) before the final payment. Use Secure Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon confirmation of shipping documents and quality compliance.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Discuss volume-based discounts (e.g., a 5-10% price drop for orders exceeding 2,000 pieces) and ask for favorable Incoterms like FOB (Free On Board) to maintain control over your shipping costs and logistics providers.

Sherpa jackets are high-volume, low-weight items, meaning they take up significant space. To optimize costs, use Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) and plan your sourcing at least 4-6 months in advance of the winter season to account for production lead times (typically 30-45 days) and potential port congestion.

Before sharing proprietary designs, have the supplier sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Ensure the supplier is a Verified Manufacturer on Made-in-China.com, which indicates a higher level of business legitimacy and respect for international IP standards.
