Co2 cartridges manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize capacity (typically 8g, 12g, 16g, or 25g) and thread type (threaded vs. non-threaded). For food-grade applications like soda siphons, ensure the gas is 99.9% pure CO2 and the internal cylinder is cleaned to food-grade standards. For industrial or cycling use, focus on burst pressure ratings and zinc-coating thickness to prevent corrosion during long-term storage.

Since these are high-pressure vessels, compliance with international standards is non-negotiable. Look for CE marking (EN 16509), UL certification, or TUV/GS marks. Ensure the manufacturer performs 100% leakage testing and provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). For the US market, DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance for pressure vessels is essential for legal sale and transport.

Usage scenarios dictate the required purity and material. Life-saving equipment (life vests) requires high-reliability cartridges with specific ISO 12402-7 certification. Bicycle tire inflators usually require 16g or 25g threaded cartridges. Beverage carbonation requires food-grade CO2 to avoid off-flavors or oil contamination. Always match the neck diameter and thread pitch to the specific application device.

The unit price of CO2 cartridges is highly sensitive to volume. Bulk orders of 10,000+ units can reduce costs by up to 40% compared to small batches. However, you must factor in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including hazardous materials (HAZMAT) shipping surcharges and specialized warehousing requirements, which can significantly impact the final landed cost.

CO2 cartridges are classified as Class 2.2 Non-Flammable Compressed Gas (UN1013). They are considered dangerous goods (DG) for international shipping. You must work with freight forwarders experienced in DG handling and ensure all packaging meets UN-certified standards. Failure to declare these correctly can lead to heavy fines, shipment seizure, or carrier blacklisting.

When sourcing via Made-in-China.com, request a factory audit report and specific pressure test logs. Negotiate a contract that includes a defective rate clause (typically aiming for less than 0.3%). Insist on Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify the weight consistency and seal integrity of the cartridges before final payment.

Always utilize secure payment terms such as Letters of Credit (L/C) for large volumes or Escrow-based services provided by reputable platforms. Avoid direct wire transfers to unverified accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the gas purity, weight tolerance (+/- 0.5g), and certification numbers to provide legal recourse in case of disputes.

Many countries impose Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) or specific tariffs on steel products from certain regions. Check your local Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 7311.00) for current duty rates. Additionally, ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to help you benefit from any existing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that might reduce import taxes.
