Fresh royal jelly manufacturers

The most critical quality marker is the 10-HDA (10-Hydroxy-2-decenoic acid) content, which should ideally be above 1.4% for standard grade and 1.8% to 2.0% for premium export grade. Additionally, the product should have a moisture content below 67% and a protein level between 11% and 15%. Visually, it should be a milky white to pale yellow viscous paste with a characteristic pungent, phenolic odor and a sour, acrid taste.

Fresh Royal Jelly is highly heat-sensitive and must be maintained in a cold chain environment. For long-term storage, it must be kept at -18°C (0°F) or lower. During international transit, it should be shipped in refrigerated containers (Reefer) or packed with dry ice/gel packs in high-density foam boxes to ensure the temperature remains below 5°C. Exposure to room temperature for extended periods will lead to the degradation of bioactive compounds.

Buyers must ensure the supplier complies with ISO 12824:2016, which specifies the requirements for royal jelly. For food safety, look for HACCP or ISO 22000 certifications. Depending on the destination market, you may also require FDA registration (USA), Health Certificates, and Phytosanitary Certificates. If the product is marketed as organic, verify EOS (Europe) or NOP (USA) organic certifications.

Request a comprehensive lab analysis report from a third-party testing body like SGS or Intertek. Tests should check for C4 sugars (corn syrup), starch, and antibiotic residues (such as Chloramphenicol or Nitrofurans). Pure royal jelly will have a pH level between 3.4 and 4.5. Any product with a neutral pH or high sucrose content is likely adulterated.

Always use Air Freight for fresh royal jelly to minimize transit time. Ensure the contract includes a Temperature Log requirement, where a digital data logger is placed inside the packaging to record temperature fluctuations throughout the journey. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize suppliers who have experience in cold-chain logistics and offer guaranteed delivery windows.

Avoid focusing solely on the lowest price. Low-cost royal jelly often indicates low 10-HDA levels or high antibiotic residues, which can lead to customs seizures. Negotiate based on active ingredient specifications and request a pre-shipment sample from the specific batch you will receive. Ensure the batch number on the COA (Certificate of Analysis) matches the physical product labels.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. For large orders, consider a Letter of Credit (L/C) or an Escrow service. Additionally, conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspector to verify the supplier's refrigerated storage facilities before making a significant deposit.

Bee products are often subject to strict quarantine inspections. Ensure all documentation, including the Certificate of Origin and Veterinary Health Certificate, is prepared in advance. Check the Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for antibiotics in your specific country, as standards in the EU are significantly stricter than in other regions. Failure to meet these can result in the mandatory destruction of the shipment.
