Golden spoon manufacturers

Professional buyers should distinguish between solid gold, gold-plated, and PVD-coated stainless steel. For commercial use (hotels/restaurants), the industry standard is 304 (18/8) or 316 (18/10) stainless steel as the base material. The 'golden' finish is most durably achieved through Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating, which is food-safe, scratch-resistant, and dishwasher-stable, unlike traditional electroplating which may peel over time.

Compliance is critical for customs clearance. You must ensure the products meet FDA (USA) or LFGB (Germany/EU) standards for food contact materials. Specifically, request Lead and Cadmium migration test reports. If the product is intended for the US market, it must also comply with California Proposition 65 to ensure no toxic chemicals leach from the gold finish.

Request a Salt Spray Test report (typically 24 to 48 hours) to verify corrosion resistance. For the finish quality, check for color consistency across batches and the absence of 'hanging marks' from the plating process. High-end spoons should feature mirror-polished surfaces (Grade A) before coating to ensure a flawless, high-luster golden appearance.

Design should align with the end-use: Fine dining requires heavier, ergonomic handles (balanced weight), while dessert or coffee service may prioritize decorative aesthetics. For gift sets, ensure the supplier can provide customized packaging (magnetic boxes or velvet linings) that prevents the spoons from scratching each other during transit.

Always order a pre-production sample and subject it to a high-temperature dishwasher cycle test (at least 50 times). In your contract, specify the micron thickness of the coating and use Made-in-China.com's inspection services to verify that the bulk production matches the approved sample's color tone and weight.

Negotiate based on weight and material grade rather than just unit price. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 500, 2000, 5000 units). Since gold-colored items are often sold in sets, you can gain leverage by bundling the order with forks and knives to increase the total volume, which often triggers a 10-15% discount on the total shipment.

Golden spoons are highly susceptible to surface scratches. Insist on individual polybagging or tissue wrapping for each piece. For sea freight, ensure the outer cartons are double-walled corrugated boxes with moisture-proof inner liners to prevent oxidation or 'clouding' of the finish caused by humid sea air.

Utilize Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to ensure your payment is only released after you confirm receipt and quality. For large orders, hire a third-party inspector (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) focusing on quantity, workmanship, and function before the final balance is paid.
