Konjac jelly manufacturers

When sourcing Konjac Jelly, the most critical factor is the Glucomannan content, which determines the texture and health benefits. Ensure the product meets Food Safety Management Systems (ISO 22000 or HACCP). For international markets, the particle size and gel strength must be controlled to prevent choking hazards, especially for products intended for children. Look for suppliers who provide COA (Certificate of Analysis) for every batch to verify moisture levels, pH balance, and microbiological safety (e.g., absence of Salmonella and E. coli).

Compliance varies by region: for the US market, FDA registration and FSVP (Foreign Supplier Verification Programs) are mandatory. For the EU, compliance with EFSA regulations regarding food additives (E425) is essential. Additionally, if you are targeting health-conscious consumers, prioritize suppliers with BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standard), Vegan/Plant-Based certifications, and Halal or Kosher labels to expand your market reach.

Konjac Jelly is primarily used as a low-calorie, high-fiber snack or a dietary supplement for weight management. Evaluate the syneresis (water separation) rate; high-quality jelly should remain stable under varying temperatures. For functional beverages, ensure the jelly bits are heat-stable if they undergo pasteurization. Request samples to test the mouthfeel (chewiness vs. softness) and the stability of natural sweeteners like Erythritol or Stevia if you are aiming for a 'zero-sugar' claim.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer extensive customization. This includes bespoke flavor profiles (e.g., white peach, lychee, or functional infusions like collagen and vitamin C), packaging formats (spout pouches, sticks, or cups), and private labeling. Ensure the supplier can handle custom printing with food-grade inks and offers flexible MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for new flavor trials, typically ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 units depending on the packaging complexity.

To ensure transaction security, always use Secured Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). This ensures the goods match the approved samples in terms of weight, packaging integrity, and labeling accuracy before the final balance is paid.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers; for instance, a 15-20% discount is often achievable when moving from LCL (Less than Container Load) to a full 20ft container. Discuss lead times clearly, especially for customized packaging which can add 15-25 days to the production cycle. Ask for 'Free Replacement' clauses in the contract for any goods damaged due to poor sealing or contamination during transit.

Konjac Jelly is sensitive to extreme temperatures. For long-haul cross-border shipping, request temperature-controlled containers (Reefers) if passing through tropical zones to prevent texture degradation. Ensure the HS Code (typically 2106.90) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. Furthermore, verify that the shelf-life (usually 12-18 months) is clearly printed in the destination country's required format and that the outer cartons are reinforced to prevent bursting under pressure during stacking.
